SoleMate: Tracy Ryan

Running begins as a way to exercise and keep our bodies healthy and strong, but eventually, if you continue to push yourself, it can become an escape and you’ll greet the pavement with exuberance.

This is how our first GOTRAC SoleMate, Tracy Ryan, feels about running and she takes to the sidewalks and grassy trails to treat her mind and [slimmer] body.

Tracy adamantly states, “running has taught me that I can accomplish anything” and there is no denying that her transformation can help empower us all to live by this exact sentiment. Not only is Tracy 200 pounds lighter from a great diet and running, but she has used it as a platform to encourage other people to make a conscious effort to take control of their lives, too.

Tracy said that a few years ago she could barely run ten feet, but she recently completed her first marathon (you go, girl!) and will be running to represent Girls on the Run and GOTRAC this Sunday, Feb. 16, in the Five Points of Life Marathon.

We are so happy to have Tracy running and working with and for us and if any of you want to show your support (or are personally participating) come help us cheer her on and spread the good word about what it means to be a GOTR and to be a SoleMate for our wonderful organization.

If you’re unable to attend the Five Points of Life Marathon on Sunday, then we’d love to have you dine with us and enjoy some spaghetti at the pre-dinner this Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute (3450 Hull Road). There will be guest speakers, great food, and even better fellowship. Doors open at 4pm and tickets are only $10!
